YAY! I’ve just ordered the new Egotrippi album “Maailmanloppua odotellessa” online! This is the first time I have found out how to do this. So far I always had to ask someone in Finland to get me the cds. But thanks to my twitter contact Andrea Vascellari these times have come to an end. Mille grazie, Andrea!
We had discovered the music of the Finnish band Egotrippi in 2004 when we were driving from Helsinki to Joensuu in our car. We heard the song “Älä koskaan ikinä” on the radio.
Of course we didn’t understand a word! But the music got us at once. When we arrived at our friends in Joensuu we asked them by singing what we could. But they couldn’t identify it.
It was only on our way back to Helsinki that we heard the song on the radio again and called our friends to let them listen to it. When we got back home the cd was already waiting for us.
Another great from the same album “Matkustaja” (The traveller) is the song with the same title:
And ever since then this music reminds us of travelling,
of the great time we had in Finland and
that we have to get back there one day!

Egotrippi is one of a kind. The first time I heard Egotrippi was most certainly by coincidence. My flatmate from Finland had the soundtrack “Levottomat”, in which “Koivuniemen Herra” was in the playlist. After hearing that song I was hooked. Some time later I bought “20 Suosikkia” when crossing the finnish border from Haparanda. It´s great that other foreigners have discovered this magical band : )
P.S) Speaking of your german origin, the swedish TV is transmitting KDD – Kriminaldauerdienst (Kriminaljouren in swedish). Ein echter Knuller!
