Here we are back from a gorgeous concert of Angelo Branduardi. He played in the concert hall of the Bonn Brückenforum that is only five minutes walk from where we live.We had already been to one of his concerts there beofre and so we knew it was going to be a great evening.
Our seats were on the right outside but third row, so we could still see quite well. The only problem was the fact that the right front speaker was almost in front of us so the sound got a bit rattling for us sometimes.
In the first part Branduardi – who praised the Germans to be his most understanding and faithful audience – presented songs from his Francesco program (see introduction and finale) starting and ending this part with “Il Cantico delle Creature”. Here’s a short video I made of this song:
After a short break he started the good old songs that everybody knew. Several of my favourites were played too, like “Vanità di Vanità” or “Ballo in fa diesis minore” (song starts at 5.38 in this video but for those who understand Italian it’s worth to listen to what he tells there too!).
My video of “Alla fiera dell’est”:
Of course il maestro got standing ovations and had to play several encores including “Cercando l’oro” (to make the audience sing along), a wonderfully fragile version of “O sole mio” and “La luna”.
I realised there were some other people taking videos or photos, will have to search the web within the next days
Grazie per una grandissima sera, Angelo!

Thank you Nette, for your page about the concert in Bonn. I was there also with 2 other ladies from Holland, in the middle part 10th row. The concert was great and I realised it had been too long since I attended a concert. Angelo was in good shape, he looked relaxed and happy. What a fantastic remark about his German fans, that they have always been true to him in good times and less good times.
In some weeks there will be photo’s and comments in the site of the Branduardians. If you like, I will send you a link when it is ready. If you give me your email address I can send you a photo of our little group with Angelo.
Thank you again, your photo’s are wonderful.
Oh, and maybe you will like this link to O Sole Mio in my youtube site, it was recorded in East Berlin in the late 80’s. You can hear him telling something about the song, more or less the same as he did on Saturday, but his German has absolutely improved!!

Thank you for your good work!

Hi Patrice! (I have moved your comment from the Contact page to the concert post to make it easier for the other readers to see what you refer to)
I had seen your video before but then linked to the other one. Now we have both links, thanks!
Do you know of other blogposts about the Bonn concert?
Btw. Angelo has a facebook page and a myspace page too!
